Kaiako – Karanga Mai ELC

Permanent

32.5 hours per week

At Community Wellbeing, we are committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We embrace different ways of thinking, living, and working, because we believe diversity benefits us all. It makes our capabilities even stronger. We encourage all our people to feel comfortable bringing their whole selves to work and we strive for a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Karanga Mai Early Learning Centre has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Kaiako to join our whānau-focused learning community. We are seeking a trained Kaiako with a minimum of provisional registration.

Located on the Kaiapoi High School grounds, we provide high-quality, culturally responsive education and care for tamariki from young parents attending Karanga Mai Young Parents College, as well as children from our wider community.

At Karanga Mai, we work in genuine partnership with parents and whānau to create an environment where tamariki thrive. Our kaupapa is centred on building a strong sense of ūkaipō, where tamariki are nurtured to walk confidently in both te ao Māori and te ao Pākehā. Guided by the values of whanaungatanga, aroha, kaitiakitanga, ako, and manaakitanga, we aim to foster a sense of belonging, pride, and purpose in every child.

“Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.”
I come not with my own strengths, but bring with me the gifts, talents, and strengths of my family, tribe, and ancestors.
