Hurunui Recovery Youth Worker
Full time Fixed Term 12 months

Are you passionate about young people? Fun, energetic and keen to make a difference in the Hurunui district? Then this job may be for you...
We are looking for a full time youth worker to support Hurunui Youth. This is an awesome opportunity to work in collaboration with the award winning Hurunui Youth Programme and support Hurunui Youth following the November 14th 2016 Earthquake.
This is a community based role working across the Hurunui with young people aged 12 - 18
Ideal specifications

 Well connected to relevant Hurunui community networks and resources with an understanding of the innovative and flexible nature of rural service delivery
 Tertiary qualification and experience in social work or counselling
 Membership to an appropriate professional body
 Working knowledge of behaviour and development relating to young people.
 Knowledge and understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
 Sound working knowledge of the key agencies that work with young people in the health, education and youth development sectors.
 Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
 The ability to work across government and non-government organisations.
 An ability to utilise information technology
 Confident to work both independently and alongside others who are working toward recovery for the Hurunui District
