Social Workers

Our focus is on supporting the family whānau as a whole. Our aim as social workers is to put supports around families by developing plans to help children and their families to learn and care for themselves and/or help parents to enhance their parenting skills.

We cater for families that are/or who have been working alongside Child, Youth and Family who live in the wider Waimakariri and Hurunui District.

The social work profession promotes social change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well-being.  Utilising [sic] theories of human behavior and social justices, social worker intervenes at the point where people interact with their environment.  Principles of human rights and social justice are fundamental to social work (International Federation of Social Workers (2000). Definition of social work).
