Community Wellbeing Week

Support families like yours across North Canterbury

Community Wellbeing Week, 16 – 20 October

We need your help to give the Waimakariri and Hurunui Districts a boost! Proudly supported by Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa and Ernst & Young, Community Wellbeing Week is your chance to have some fun, learn new ways to keep yourself healthy and happy, and to contribute to essential family services in our region.

The funds raised during Community Wellbeing Week will benefit three key family services, which we deliver for free:

  • Parenting courses - building skills for a flourishing family
  • Karanga Mai Early Learning Centre – growing and developing the children of young parents while they attend Karanga Mai Young Parents College.
  • Family Counselling services – support for individuals and families facing challenges.

How to get involved

Host a fundraising morning tea

Your team are your biggest assets, so take some time out this Community Wellbeing Week to celebrate your successes and give your team a boost!

Get together, pick a fun theme, bring a plate and make a donation. You could dress up for the day, bring your kids to work, bring your pets or have a bake-off – how your team celebrates is up to you, but there will be kudos and social media recognition for the best themes!

Every team that signs up will receive some workplace wellbeing ideas to guide discussions about how to look after each other and be happy, healthy and more productive at work.

The business that raises the most per person will win a team building day from the Community Wellbeing North Canterbury Trust.

Register now here on EventBrite.

Dress up for mufti day

Celebrate what makes your school and students special this Community Wellbeing Week!

Hold a mufti day with a crazy-fun theme and collect donations to benefit families across our region. We want to see schools full of super-heroes, pirates or onesie–clad students! How your school celebrates is up to you but there will be social media recognition for the schools with the best costumes.

Community Wellbeing Week is a great opportunity to have conversations about looking after each other, recognising people’s strengths and how to stay happy and healthy at school and at home.
